Scott belonged, or the role of disability in her career, but all topics will be considered. Scott

The Film Studies area of the 40th Annual Conference of the Southwest Popular / American Culture Association (SWPACA) invites presentations on any topic germane to film studies including, but not limited to, film as art, film as culture, and film as industry. This year we are also happy to welcome any papers considering Film Theory and Aesthetics.

 

Individual proposals for 15-minute papers must include an abstract of approximately 200-500 words. Including a brief bio in the body of the proposal form is encouraged, but not required.

The annual conference of the American Literature Association will meet at the Westin Copley Place in Boston on May 23-26, 2019 (Thursday through Sunday of Memorial Day weekend).

The Jonathan Bayliss Society will sponsor one roundtable discussion on Experiments in Narrative Form in American Fiction.

American fiction abounds in experimental narrative form, from Melville, Dos Passos, and Djuna Barnes through Faulkner, Kerouac, Barth, Kathy Acker, Jonathan Bayliss, and many others.  The Jonathan Bayliss Society invites proposals on American novels that engage in such experiment.

The roundtable will be comprised of several brief (8-10 minute) presentations.

Graduate students are especially welcome to submit proposals.
