This panel aims at problematizing the interconnectedness of cultural projects in the broad canvas of hegemonic claims. Conceiving libraries and archives as imperial, national or local enterprises, it explores their material and symbolic importance for the consecution of territorial and temporary privileges.

The session welcomes presentations that focus on pedagogical approaches, models of disciplinary and cultural entrepreneurship, and community outreach projects that expand the role of the Italian program today.

Oral narratives are an integral part of our cultural learning process, allowing people to interconnect with past and future generations through shared experience; however, due to shame, fear, guilt, etc., that oral tradition is sometimes disrupted, leading to a fractured narrative that withholds crucial information from future generations.

This session seeks papers about electronic editions of medieval and early modern texts in both scholarship and teaching. How can such texts be best executed and then distributed? What information and features should they provide for readers? Do they replace hands-on study of manuscripts, or do they provoke more manuscript tourism? And how can such texts be used in research and also to bring textual studies into the medieval or early modern classroom?
