Session Theme: Current Approaches to Children's Literature

Description: The Children's Literature Session of South Central MLA (SCMLA),
welcomes proposals for papers examining contemporary or "current" and
innovative approaches to children's and adolescent literature. Methods
might include concepts such as abjection, postcolonialism, multiculturalism,
feminisms or other applicable treatments.

CHILDREN'S LITERATURE & MODERNISM

Special Issue, CHILDREN'S LITERATURE ASSOCIATION QUARTERLY

Stream of consciousness, fragmentation, multi-media experimentation,
multiple perspectives, cityscapes, shifting boundaries of time and
space, making it new, recycling the old. Modernism pursues new ways of
seeing -- and often through the pages of children's literature.

This special issue of _Children's Literature Association Quarterly_
invites submissions on any aspect of children's literature during the
modernist period, 1890-1945. Topics may include:

Eté 2007 : numéro 20 : « Enfance »

Suite à notre appel de l'année dernière pour ce même numéro 20, nous
renouvelons notre demande afin de recevoir davantage d'articles. Nous
invitons les étudiant-e-s gradué-e-s à soumettre un article écrit en
français ou en anglais pour ce numéro intitulé « Enfance » - terme que
nous définissons comme la période s'achevant aux alentours de l'âge de
treize ans.

Les travaux soumis pourront adopter toutes sortes d'approches critiques et
théoriques. Ils ne devront pas dépasser 20 pages et le format devra
impérativement suivre la norme MLA.

Enlightening 2007 (E7) is the world's first Harry Potter Camp for Families. Sponsored by Bonding over Books, E7 will include a mix of serious academic exploration of J.K Rowling's text, interactive events and competitions for families to engage in together, and workshops in
which participants learn and practice how to contribute to the fandom.
