Papers are invited for the Society for the History of Authorship, Reading, and Publishing (SHARP) affiliate session at the 2015 SAMLA Convention. Potential topics include print culture, history of the book, authorship, publishing history, ephemera, illustration, publishers' archives, circulation, and reception. Papers addressing this year's theme, "In Concert: Literature and the Other Arts" are especially welcome. What connections can be made between print culture/book history and the areas of visual art, theatre, and music? How has the relationship between print culture and the arts evolved from the manuscript age to the digital world of the 21st century?

Proposals are invited for presentations on the digital humanities and the teaching of eighteenth-century studies.
At last year's CSECS conference, there was a lively debate on the relationship between digital humanities and eighteenth-century studies: this panel seeks to continue that discussion.
The focus is open, but papers might consider:

*dh and disciplinarity
*dh and book history
NB: CSECS rules allow conference participants to present in roundtables in addition to one paper presentation. If you intend to present a paper as well, please indicate that you would like to be considered for a roundtable session.

Excellent teaching is what invites the next generation of great scholars into our profession. Perhaps because of bad high school experiences, many students expect the 18th-century to be a period of dry treatises, hard-to-understand poems, and repetitive plays full of in-jokes. We know differently, but what is the best way to teach the brilliance, wit, complexity, and conflict of our period?
Building upon the models of MLA and ASECS, CSECS 2015 will offer for the second year a cluster of panels on teaching the long eighteenth century.
Verge: Studies in Global Asias is a new journal that includes scholarship from scholars in both Asian and Asian American Studies. These two fields have traditionally defined themselves in opposition to one another, with the former focused on an area-studies, nationally and politically oriented approach, and the latter emphasizing epistemological categories, including ethnicity and citizenship, that drew mainly on the history of the United States. The past decade however has seen a series of rapprochements in which, for instance, categories "belonging" to Asian American Studies (ethnicity, race, diaspora) have been applied with increasing success to studies of Asia.

The Society for the Study of Rebecca Harding Davis and Her World welcomes proposals for an open topic session at the American Literature Association's 26th Annual Conference. The conference will be held in May, 2015 at the Copley Westin in Boston, MA. For further information about the conference, please consult the ALA website at www.americanliterature.org.
We welcome proposals that engage any aspect of Davis's work and are especially interested in new readings of neglected texts.
