The Asian American Literature Division of the MLA announces the following panel
and seeks papers for MLA December 27-30, 2006, Philadelphia, PA. Deadline MARCH
18, 2006 (extended from March 15, 2006).

"Visual Culture, New Media, Asian American Studies"

Analyses and examples of intersections with television, film, digital media,

This panel seeks to examine all aspects of language use in media =
exhibition. Papers that deal with media exhibition in bilingual =
communities, language in media history and high-low culture are =
particularly welcome; however, submissions on all topics pertaining to =
the exhibition of cinema, video and multimedia in the public and private =
spheres are welcome.=20

I am seeking papers, abstracts, and panel proposals in documentary film,
television, and video for the 2006 Midwest Popular Culture Association
conference to be held October 27-29, 2006, in Indianapolis, IN.
