These publications must be in print and must include one or more undergraduate coauthors. Submissions pertaining to undergraduate research journals or conference abstracts are generally not accepted.

In the 1970s, DJ Kool Herc, a Jamaican born man living in the Bronx, helped spark the birth of a new genre/culture:  Hip Hop.  Popularized by Black and Brown marginalized populations in the United States, Hip Hop is a genre and culture now known around the world.  From its early inception until now, Hip Hop has evolved into a culture and art form with its own Diaspora.  During this, our fifth annual conference, we will explore how Hip Hop has reached a global audience and undergirded a whole new worldview for the last thirty years.  This year, we will come to know Hip Hop in Diaspora

The 2017 English Graduate Organization (EGO) Interdisciplinary Conference is in collaboration with Popular Culture Methodologies (PCM), a new graduate organization in IUP’s English Department. The conference theme is “Cultural Shifts” in Popular Culture. Cultural shifts modify a society through development, invention, discovery, resistance, and revolution. History reveals that such activities energize creative and critical responses as well as changes in disciplinary curricula. This year’s EGO/PCM Conference creates an inter- and trans-disciplinary space to share diverse perspectives on the ways cultural shifts affect, and are affected by, representations in Popular Culture.

The Journal of Communications Media Studies welcomes original submissions for its annual volume, to be published in Fall 2017.

The Journal of Communications Media Studies is broad in focus and welcomes submissions on a variety of communication topics including (but not limited to) mass communication, international communication, educational technology, rhetorical studies, and organizational/corporate communication.
