A CFP was issued last year about a volume being put together that will examine
the relationship between classical and biblical ideas in Great Britain and
Western Europe in the early modern period (c1536-1702).

For various reasons some authors had to pull out, and we have lost contact with
others whose email has apparantly changed, and we were not given new contact
details.

We have found some new papers, but we are putting out a new CFP for two
additional papers of between five thousand and six thousand words on the above
theme. As with the first CFP submissions are welcome from scholars working in
all disciplines. Interdisciplinary treatments are especially encouraged. All
authors should write in such a way that their work is accessible to academics
working in other disciplines.

We would especially welcome any submission on classical influence on the
revision of the hymns of the Roman Breviary.

Abstracts of 500-1000 words - as well as a shorter synopsis of 200 words for
the publisher's submission - should be sent to John Newton
(j.g.newton_at_durham.ac.uk) as soon as possible, and in any case no later than
March 31st 2005.
