The Faculties of Letters of the University of Geneva and the University of
Lausanne have the pleasure to invite you to the XIIth Congress of the
International Courtly Literature Society (ICLS), which will take place

>From 29 July to 4 August 2007
in the two Lemanic cities
 (Lausanne 29.07-31.07, Geneva 01.08-04.08)

We wish to hold this meeting on a common theme, which would provide
direction for our work, yet still allow sufficient scope for the
illustration of individual research projects. We hereby invite you to send
us paper proposals on the theme:

Courtly Mythologies
=20
This theme will be developed through four different lines of thought:
=20
a) Exemplary figures
b) Gender definitions and courtly mythologies
c) Rites and performances of power
d) Questions of style and rewriting
=20
We will gladly welcome proposals for thematic sessions organised by
individual participants or groups of participants.

The official languages of ICLS are French, English and German. In line with
Swiss linguistic tradition, communications in Italian will also be accepted
=20
A website (www.unil.ch/icls2007) will be available as of 15 Novembre 2005.
It will provide all necessary information for your registration. Later the
website will also supply information on the Congress programme,
transportation facilities, hotels in Lausanne and Geneva. Arrangements are
already being made for moderate-price accomodations.

We encourage you to register on line, if possible. Please submit a title an=
d
an 250-word abstract. We need you to specify to which national branch of th=
e
Society you belong. It is necessary to be a member of ICLS to give a paper
during the Congress. If not yet a member, you may contact the secretary of
your national branch, who will gladly accept your registration.

The registration fee amounts to 80 =E2=82=AC (100 =E2=82=AC after March 1, 2007) and =
can
be paid electronically. The fee icludes the volume of the Congress, a
collection of selected papers related to our central theme.
