CALL FOR PAPERS
Ben Jonson in the 21c
Rocky Mountain Modern Language Association (RMMLA) Convention
Tucson, AZ 12-14 October 2006 -- Abstracts deadline: March 1, 2006

The Special Session on Ben Jonson invites proposals for 15-minute papers
focusing on all areas of Jonson scholarship. With the impending publication
of the Cambridge Edition of the Works of Ben Jonson (an anthology that will
replace the standard Herford and Simpson edition of the 1920s-50s and
generate new scholarly, curricular, and theatrical interest in Jonson),
papers anticipating the use and its impact of the Cambridge text on our
understanding of Jonson and his age are particularly encouraged. Additional
topics might include Jonson and Gender; Jonson in performance; Jonson and
the Politics of Elizabeth, James and Charles; Jonson and his Contemporaries;
Jonson as literary critic. Of course, proposals dealing with any aspect of
Jonson and his work are welcome.

Please submit 250 word abstracts electronically to Tara Hayes
(tarajhayes_at_hotmail.com or ai2208_at_wayne.edu) or Barbara Mather Cobb
(barbara.cobb_at_murraystate.edu) by March 1, 2006.
