CALL FOR PAPERS:
CONTEMPORARY MEDIATED MASCULINITIES

Over the past few years, there have been numerous books,
articles, special forums, films, and other types of media that have
touched on the issue of contemporary manhood and the traditions and
changes associated with masculinity. We are accepting proposals for an
anthology that will examine the topic of contemporary mediated
masculinities. We are particularly interested in proposals that explore
the recent phenomena that have been associated with the contemporary
mediated man, such as, but not limited to, the metrosexual man, the
domestic dad, the post 9/11 man, the suburban man, men of color, the gay
man, and the spaces between and combinations of all of these
masculinities. Essays that discuss, race, class, gender, sexuality,
religion, disabilities, relationships, education, and related topics
with a contemporary theme are especially welcomed. We feel that such a
project is most important given the increasing attention given to
contemporary maleness in all avenues of society.

Proposal should be typed, no more than 2 pages, and sent to
either:
