CALL FOR PAPERS for a panel on Literary Darwinism at the The American =
Literature Association Symposium on American Literary Naturalism October =
5-6, 2007, in Newport Beach, California. Papers can examine any aspect =
of the influence of evolution on/in American literature. Papers should =
be 15 minutes long, and are not limited to authors with formal ALA =
associations, but panel members should be ALA members at the time of =
presentation. Please submit proposals via email to =
Jeffrey.turpin_at_utsa.edu by June 7, 2007, including a one-page (maximum!) =
description, paper title, names, affiliations, and, on a separate page, =
full address information and email address of each participant. Note =
that a/v equipment is not available for the panel.

ALA Symposium Program will include two concurrent sessions running =
Friday and Saturday and two luncheons covered by the conference fee of =
$120. An afternoon keynote address by Donald Pizer, "Naturalism and the =
Jews," will conclude Friday's sessions, to be followed by a cocktail =
reception. On Saturday, Earle Labor will be featured as keynote speaker =
at a conference luncheon on the topic of "Naturalism and the =
Biographer." A closing celebration will be held Saturday evening.=20
