South Asian Review (SAR) will publish its next Creative Writing issue
(28:3, 2007) devoted exclusively to creative writing in all genres.
Writers of South Asian descent from around the world are invited to
submit their writings on any subject, while writers of other backgrounds
may submit their writings on South Asian subjects only.

Submissions in all genres are invited, but we would especially like to
hear from writers of short fiction and creative non-fiction (including
memoir and travel writing). Translations from all South Asian languages
are welcome, if the translators have in hand permission from the original
writers or their estates, where relevant.

Because of space limitations, we cannot publish prose works that are
longer than 20 pages (5000 words). Poets are advised not to submit more
than five of their best poems, totaling no more than 2500 words.
Submissions that do not follow these guidelines will not be considered.

All submissions should be accompanied by a statement that the original
compositions (or translations) submitted to SAR have not previously
appeared anywhere else in print or online.

South Asian Review is a forum for the members of the South Asian Literary
Association (SALA). All contributors to SAR must already be members or
become members before their writings appear in the journal. For
membership information, please contact SALA Treasurer, Dr. Pennie Ticen,

Deadline: September 30, 2007. The Creative Writing issue for 2007 will be
edited by John Hawley and Amritjit Singh. While queries may be sent to
either Hawley or Singh, all submissions should be faxed or mailed or sent
by Word attachment to Professor John Hawley, Professor and Chair,
Department of English, Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, CA 95053.
