Modernism and Media: Music, Film, Literature

Literary modernism may be explored through an investigation of how media
such as film and music interacted with literary texts. We welcome a
discussion of modernist practice by poets, novelists, film makers,
creators of theater, and critical analysis of modernism and intermedial
practice across texts, films, music, and artwork. It is proposed that
earlier media (film, telephone, telegraph, sound recordings, stage, print)
may offer us a way of reflecting upon our contemporary creative processes
and intermediality in the digital age. Studies from perspectives in
cultural studies, literary studies, musicology, film studies, or sociology
are welcome.
