The Society for Animation Studies will hold its 20th annual conference at
the Arts Institute at Bournemouth, 17-20 July 2008. Proposals are invited
for individual papers and themed panels on topics related to the diverse
field of Animation. Possible themes and topics might include, but are not
limited to:

One-page abstracts are invited for a panel on nineteenth-century American
sentimentalism in the novel, short fiction, sketch, autobiography, and
poetry at the American Literature Association’s 19th Annual Conference in
San Francisco from May 22-25, 2008. Our interests include, but are not
limited to, sentimentalism as a negative or positive attribute within
individual works; differences in individual authors’ construction and use
of sentiment within their works; differences in male and female authors’
construction and use of sentiment; cross-gender and interracial dialogue;
sentimentalism in the captivity, slave, or conversion narrative;

Non-RMMLA members may propose a paper, but membership in RMMLA is
required of all presenters by APRIL 1.

Requests for Audio-Visual equipment are due by MAY 1 (email
rmmla_at_wsu.edu)
 
Participation at the convention also requires payment of a convention
registration fee (registration opens in mid-summer; early discount rates
available).
