The Burney Society of North America will hold its fourth biennial
conference in Chicago, Illinois, on October 2 and 3, 2008 at the Newberry
Library. The conference hotel, the Westin Michigan Avenue, is
conveniently located just a few blocks away.

of Europe opens a series of international conferences on Culture and
conflict organized by the Research Centre for Communication and Culture.

several media, the way conflict and memory have reshaped the face of
