Stolen Lives: Identity Theft and Contemporary Narrative

Proposed Special Session Panel
MLA Convention, Dec. 27-30, 2009

Abstracts invited for a panel focusing on the treatment of identity theft
in contemporary literature and/or film. Possible topics include:
impersonated and reinvented selves; ontologies of identity, networked
identities; privacy, surveillance, and self-surveillance; questions of
genre and genealogy; plagiarism, adaptation, pseudonymity.

The D. H. Lawrence Society of North American (DHLSNA) invites individuals
to submit abstracts for consideration for the 2009 MLA meeting in
Philadelphia (which will be held from December 27th through 30th).

The DHLSNA is organizing two panels: "D. H. Lawrence's Circle" and "D. H.
Lawrence's Short Stories."

We are interested in considering abstracts for the "D. H. Lawrence's Short Stories" panel of a
theoretical, biographical, literary or cultural nature that involve one or more of the short stories.
