Proposals are now being accepted for the Children in Film Area of the SW/TX PCA/ACA conference Feb 10-13, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM.(www.swtxpca.org) Submissions pertaining to any aspect of children's studies in relation to film are desired. Of special interest are contributions that explore and interrogate the representations of children in Hollywood film, independent film, foreign film and/or children's identity construction as represented in film. Additional topics of interest concerning children in film may include, but are not limited to: coming-of-age; children of color; negotiations of racial/ethnic/cultural differences; negotiations by children of social, political, economic conditions; children's relationships with adults, parents, siblings, or peers as represented in film; gender and children; sexuality and children; children of the Diaspora as portrayed in film; children and technology; the child body; ideology and the child; children's education, and any other topic that deals with the child image in film. Panel suggestions welcome.

Abstracts of 250-300 words may be sent via email to debbieo@okstate.edu or to the address below. Inquiries and panel suggestions are welcome via email. Deadline for submissions is September 26, 2009. Please include a curriculum vitae and a brief, 50 word biography with your abstract submission.
