The Latina/o Literature and Culture Society of the American Literature Association seeks proposals for several panels at the American Literature Association's 23nd annual conference at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Embarcadero Center May 23-27, 2012. We are particularly interested in seeking out proposals in the following areas/topics:

Any aspect of the work of Lorna Dee Cervantes
Globalization and/or Transnational Approaches
Place/Social Geography
Immigration (co-sponsored by CAALS: The Circle for Asian American Literary Studies)

Those interested in submitting a paper should send a one-page abstract with your name, position, affiliation, and contact information to Eliza Rodriguez y Gibson at: erodri37@lmu.edu

We will also organize a Roundtable Discussion about Teaching Latina/o Literature, which seeks to bring together a wide range of approaches from: Latina/o literary studies, comparative Ethnic Studies, and American literature, among many other possible areas.
