All things Contextual and Cultural must Converge: Flannery O'Connor though Interrelated Factors and Cultural Depictions

The theme of this year's SAMLA Conference is "Cultures, Contexts, Images, Texts: Making Meaning in Print, Digital, and Networking Worlds," and as such the Flannery O'Connor Society Affiliated Group would like to invite 15-20 minute presentations that reflect scholarship dealing with a wide range of categories within depictions of culture and/or interrelated contextual connections in the body of work of Flannery O'Connor.

Papers may choose to examine a variety of topics including belief systems, social habits, and religious groups. Topics considered may include particular values or attitudes held by a given group based upon any number of qualifiers, such as age, race, sex, religion, and geographic location. Studies in all manner of O'Connor's writing including her novels, short fiction, reviews and essays and more are encouraged. Also welcome are any presentations of any relationship between depictions of cultural habits and their larger contextual significance within O'Connor's life.
