Pennsylvania and Romanticism

full name / name of organization:
Daniel Robinson

Since MLA is in Philly next year, I thought I might put together and propose a session on Pennsylvania and Romanticism. It seems like there are many interesting connections: just off the top of my head, Pantisocracy, Priestley, Henry Reed (Wordsworth's first American editor), Franklin as "modern Prometheus," Leigh Hunt's father (a Philadelphia lawyer), of course book history, and something interesting probably could be done with Penn himself (although not a Romantic-period figure), his utopian ideals, and Quakers during our period. I'm sure there are many more interesting possibilities. I would like to see proposals of 150-300 words. Of course, keep in mind that this is not a guaranteed session.
