Place/Time/Culture: An Undergraduate Conference for the Humanities
Young Harris College, September 10, 2016.

Call for Papers:

It is common to hear someone say, "It takes time to know a place." But how do time and place actually intersect in our human cultures and in the artworks created by them? How does place affect the production of literature, film, history, television, music, theatre, etc.? How do time and temporality complicate these productions? If everything is culture and culture is everything, then what of time and place? Are they cultural constructions themselves, or can they manage to exist outside of culture? These and many others are the questions that Place/Time/Culture, Young Harris College's Undergraduate Conference for the Humanities, seeks to answer. Building off of growing scholarly interest in place and time, the conference welcomes paper submissions by undergraduate students who have engaged these and related topics in their undergraduate work.

Located in the beautiful mountains of North Georgia, Young Harris College provides an exceptional environment for the scholarly exchange of ideas. We have worked hard to maintain a low conference registration fee of $25, which will be due by June 15, 2016 for accepted proposals. Please send 250-word abstracts to yhcugradconference@gmail.com by March 25, 2016. We especially encourage submissions from students at nearby colleges and universities.
