The Creative Writing II: Poetry section of the Midwest Modern Language Association is accepting proposals for scholarly and literary presentations that examine, complicate, or challenge concepts of borders and bordering as imagined across multiple modes of poetic and scholarly production. The MMLA conference will take place in St. Louis, Missouri, November 10-13, 2016.

We welcome papers, poetry, and digital poetics projects. We are especially interested in critical-creative works that interpret the conference theme, "Border States," through experimental poetic strategies, like chance operations, procedural modes of writing, appropriation, bricolage, and documentary practice.

Please send a 200-300-word abstract and a brief bio to the section chair, Francesco Levato (falevat@ilstu.edu), by April 5th, 2016. Include in your abstract your name, institutional affiliation, e-mail address and paper title.
