'Gothic Afterlives: Mutations, Histories, and Returns', Biennial GANZA Conference, 23-24 January 2017

Gothic Association of New Zealand and Australia (GANZA)

The Gothic Association of New Zealand and Australia (GANZA) welcomes papers for its third biennial conference, to be held at Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand, on 23-24 January 2017.
The conference will be organised in the spirit of the Association.

GANZA is interdisciplinary in nature, bringing together scholars, students, teachers and professionals from a number of Gothic disciplines, including literature, film, music, television, fashion, architecture, and other popular culture forms. It is the aim of the Association to not only place a focus on Australasian Gothic scholarship, but also to build international links with the wider Gothic community as a whole.

This three-day international conference asks preeminent and emerging scholars to bring their attention to bear on 'Coetzee's women', broadly conceived, as well as possible reasons for the lack of sustained critical engagement with this theme until now.

Call for Papers now extended until 15 April 2016.

10-Day Course on Islamic Art

The Islamic School of Art (in collaboration with the University of Religions and Denominations of Qom) is pleased to offer the short-term course of Wisdom of Islamic Art on 22th-31st August, 2016. This 10-Day program focuses on Islamic Art (Miniature, Architecture, Calligraphy, Music, Ta'zieh and …), discusses their philosophical foundations and entails visiting the most important Islamic architectures in the three cities of Tehran, Qom and Isfahan. All professors, researchers, artists and students in related fields are invited to apply.
