CFP: Replacement chapters needed for contracted collection, Undressing Sexual Taboo in the Liberal Arts

The essay collection Undressing Sexual Taboo in the Liberal Arts: Discussing the Visual-Textual Unmentionables, contracted for publication in late 2017 by Cambridge Scholars Publishing, is under new editorship. The editors are seeking two replacement chapters. The book includes chapters on approaches to Lolita, Japanese culture, and film and music video, but the editors would like to see proposals on controversial material in video games and virtual communities. Proposals that emphasize theory, rhetoric, and pedagogy are welcome, as are interdisciplinary approaches to visual materials and non-literary texts. The collection aims to focus a scholarly lens on controversial, taboo, or otherwise unmentionable or un-teachable subjects.

The editors welcome your 200-300 word abstract and short bio ASAP but no later than October 31, 2016. Because we are on a tight deadline, chapters of 5,000-7,000 words must be completed by January 31, 2017, with quick turnaround for revision and edits in the spring. Use Chicago style. Authors are responsible for obtaining permissions, and acceptance of the final chapter is conditional.
