"Coalitional Feminisms" -- Honolulu, HI -- November 10-12, 2017
November 10-12, 2017
The goal of this panel is to create a space at PAMLA for feminist voices underrepresented within mainstream US feminism—a forum that places intersectional identities at the center of a critical dialogue within the field and sub-fields of American literary and cultural studies. Building off the success of the past two years’ “Coalitional Feminisms” PAMLA panels, this year’s panel invites papers that explore literature and culture through the multiform feminist and intersectional methodologies: women of color, queer of color, and third world feminisms. Papers may explore artifacts, engage theory, or deploy methods specific to a specialized field of study (papers need not be comparative), but panelists will be selected on the ability of their work to speak across disciplines and to take up concerns shared by other groups.
Priority consideration will be given to submission received by Sunday, May 21, 2017
