(In)visibility: Medical Humanities in Literature, Art, and Theory
2018 Medical Humanities Conference at Boston College - (In)visibility
The conference will feature a key note speaker and several student panels. We welcome submissions from undergraduate and graduate students across the northeast. We invite papers or creative works that explore the intersections of medicine with the humanities and/ or social sciences.
While submissions may touch on any aspect of medical humanities, they should relate to the particular themes of this conference: medical theory, literature or art pertaining to the invisibility or visibility of health, illness, and disability.
Submissions (including research papers and longer creative works) should be complete, 8 to 12 pages double-spaced, and include a title, the author’s name, institutional affiliation, and email address. Submissions in other media (including art, poetry, narratives) should also be complete. Send pdfs or other formats; include a title, the author’s name, and the author’s institutional affiliation, and include a brief (250-500 word) synopsis of the project.
Proposals should be submitted by December 19th, 2017 in .doc/.docx or .pdf format.to firstname.lastname@example.org. Selected submissions will be announced by January 26th, 2018.
