The Fifth Annual David Foster Wallace Conference on Contemporary Literature and Culture will be held at Illinois State University, June 7-9, 2018. The conference invites both critical scholarship and creative writing. Papers and panels should focus on literary works published since the 1950s and/or in the works of David Foster Wallace. Creative writing proposals in all genres are welcome.
Proposals are due by December 11, 2017.

CFP: Early American Literature and Food Culture (ALA 2018)
The Washington Irving Society invites proposals connecting Irving and his contemporaries with food culture studies for the ALA Conference in San Francisco, May 24-27, 2018. Possible topics include (but are not limited to) the history of particular foods, the politics of the kitchen, agricultural practices, cross-cultural food encounters, mealtime rituals, hunger, or overconsumption as represented in early American literature. All critical frameworks are welcome. Please send an abstract of no more than 200 words plus a short CV to firstname.lastname@example.org by January 15, 2018.

This CFP calls for critical essays and creative works that address the intersection of disability studies and ecocriticism, or disability and the environment. In terms of critical essays, we will consider analyses of novels, poetry, comics, dance, art, and movies. We will also consider creative works (including creative nonfiction, poetry, and fiction) that center on an exploration of the relationship(s) between disability and the environment.
