Thoreau and Resistance
What do Thoreau's writings offer contemporary modes of social and political resistance? As we navigate an extended period of political crisis, what can we learn from Thoreau's complex responses to the national politics of his time? This panel will consider Thoreau's legacy for resistance movements with particular attention to the question of the relation between his political and natural history writings.
