Emerging Voices in Irish Studies
The University of Connecticut’s Irish Studies Alliance will hold a graduate student conference that aims to bring together new and emerging scholars in the field from colleges and universities throughout the Northeast. We are interested in papers that highlight recent and developing debates in Irish Studies and showcase the ways emerging voices participate in these conversations. Due to this conference’s focus on emerging voices in the field, we will accept undergraduate and graduate student work. We invite papers from a wide array of disciplines and encourage interdisciplinary work as well as scholarship that uses innovative methodologies. The conference welcomes proposals on all aspects of Irish Studies, including the history, language, literature, culture, art, film and politics of Ireland and its diaspora. Emerging voices will bring to the field of Irish Studies both new insights in recent debates and fresh perspectives on established avenues of inquiry.
The conference will take place on March 3, 2018 at the Hartford Public Library.
The organizers invite 250 word proposals for 20 minute presentations. Please send your proposal, along with a brief 50 word bio to firstname.lastname@example.org . Please include “Emerging Voices Proposal” in the subject of your email. The deadline for proposals is January 15, 2018.
Please note: If you have already submitted an abstract to email@example.com, please resend your abstract to firstname.lastname@example.org as the former email was included in error.
