SEMA 2018 - Diaspora: Identity, Migration, Return
Diaspora: Identity, Migration, and Return
November 8-10, 2018
Nassau, The Bahamas
The University of The Bahamas invites proposals for papers on the theme of “Diaspora: Identity, Migration, and Return” for its 57th meeting of the Southeastern Medieval Association. We invite individual submissions and panels from all disciplines exploring the concept of diaspora in the Middle Ages, interpreted broadly. We also welcome papers that consider how migration affects the concept of nationhood; conquest, exile, and colonization; economic migration; the pursuit of educational, religious, cultural, or geographical identity; or any related topic. Proposals on other medieval topics or related to teaching are also welcome.
