Call for Papers: "Romantic Perspectives on the 18th Century"
Call for paper proposals for the 44th annual meeting of the South Central Society for Eighteenth Century Studies.
Chair: Michael Cerliano, Texas Woman’s University
In keeping with the theme of this year’s conference, “The Eighteenth Century in Perspective,” we are seeking submissions for a panel tentatively titled “Romantic Perspectives on the 18th Century.” Subjects may include, but are not limited to, nostalgia for the 18th century in Romantic poetry and prose; the role and importance of historical and cultural memory in Romantic literature, particularly as it relates to the long 18th century; personal memoirs of the era; Romantic historiography; or any other consideration of the ways that Romantic writers engaged with the legacy of the Williamite and Georgian eras.
Paper proposals of no more than 300 words and vitae should be sent to Michael Cerliano at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than November 30th.
