CALL FOR PAPERS (Extended Deadline!)
Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association (PAMLA) Conference
Thursday, November 14, 2019 to Sunday, November 17, 2019, Wyndham San Diego Bayside Hotel, San Diego, California
The 2019 PAMLA Conference is being held over the November 14-17 weekend, in beautiful San Diego, California once again! Do consider joining us at the Wyndham San Diego Bayside hotel this year, and as many PAMLA attendees can attest, the conference itself is sure to be an incredibly enjoyable, friendly, and rigorous experience for scholars at all stages in their professional careers. Go to https://www.pamla.org/2019 for more information.
Session: Continental Romanticism (https://pamla.ballastacademic.com/Home/S/17878)
Presiding Officer: Larry Peer
Proposal Due Date: July 10th (Extended)
Panel abstract: Romanticism is a pan-European phenomenon, relegated neither to artifacts in one language tradition nor to one discipline. This session will feature the broad view of the movement, inviting work that is aware of Romanticism's reach and complexity across Western culture. Papers attuned to some facet of the conference theme, "Send In the Clowns," including elements of the carnivalesque, the satirical, or the ironic, are welcome.
Note: Feel free to submit a session regardless of the conference theme, and please contact me with any questions or concerns about the panel.
Moreover, for those also interested in other sessions related to World Literatures and Comparative Studies, see https://pamlaballastacademic.com/home/cfp and search for this area of study! We look forward to your submission!
