Call for Papers

American Literature Association Annual Conference

May 21-24, 2020

San Diego, CA

Panel Topic: “The Rising Tide of Ethnic Climate Change Fiction”

Although climate change fiction, or “cli-fi,” has become increasingly popular in the past decade, scholarly studies typically do not consider the genre in relation to ethnicity and race. MELUS invites individual paper proposals that examine climate change fiction by multiethnic American writers. Specifically, we are interested in papers that consider the role that race and ethnicity play in such works. Please send abstracts of 250 words, a CV, and a short bio to Stella Setka at setkasn@wlac.edu by January 20, 2020. Only MELUS members may present as part of this panel, so if you haven’t already joined, please do so by clicking here: http://www.melus.org/members/membership/
