Criterion: A Journal of Literary Criticism
Criterion: A Journal of Literary Criticism seeks original, well-researched, and intellectually rigorous papers about texts from any time period and literary tradition. We are now accepting submissions for the Fall 2024 issue. Submissions are due by September 22, 2024.
Submissions should be between 3,000 and 6,000 words. All submissions should be double-spaced, written in English, and formatted according to MLA guidelines. Submissions should be uploaded as MS word files through the Criterion website and online submission system (https://scholarsarchive.byu.edu/criterion/). Students submitting should create an account on the Scholars Archive website. Now accepting submissions for the Fall 2024 issue.
As one of the only journals in the country dedicated to publishing literary criticism written by undergraduates, Criterion only accepts submissions written by current undergraduates or recent graduates (0-6 months after graduation) who are not enrolled in a graduate program.
Per typical submission guidelines, submissions should not have been previously published in any public format and should not be in submission to any other journal or print/online outlet.
