Call for Chapters: Edited Volume on Enacting Curtailment: Practices of Censorship in Colonial India. 

We are excited to announce the forthcoming publication of an edited volume titled Enacting Curtailment: Practices of Censorship in Colonial India. This interdisciplinary volume will explore themes of censorship, resistance in the literature, art, performance, film, sound, history, and related fields within the humanities and social sciences.

We are pleased to approach a reputed publication house for publishing this volume, and in this context, we would be deeply honoured if you would contribute a chapter aligned with your area of expertise. Your scholarship and contribution would not only enrich this volume intellectually but also serve as a source of encouragement during what many of us feel is a challenging moment in academia.

Tentative Timeline:

Abstract Submission Deadline: August 31, 2025 (up to 500 words)

Full Chapter Submission Deadline: November 30, 2025 (5,000–7,000 words)
