The online issue of Negotiations: An International Journal of Literary and Cultural Studies, the bi-annual journal of the Department of English, University of North Bengal,  has been published. The journal is now inviting submissions for its December, 2025 issue. The details of the journal can be found at https://negotiations.nbu.ac.in . All details regarding the submission procedure, processes of free registration, current issue, style sheet can be obtained from the journal website.

The journal invites submissions that engage with diverse theoretical and critical approaches in literature, language studies, cultural studies, film studies, postcolonial studies, translation studies, gender studies, and related interdisciplinary fields.

All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process.

General Submission Guidelines

Manuscript Type:

Original, unpublished research articles, book reviews, review essays, and interviews are welcome.

Manuscripts must not be under consideration elsewhere.

Length:

Research articles: 6,000 - 8,ooo words (including endnotes and references).

Book reviews: 800–1,200 words.

Review essays/interviews: 2,000–3,000 words.

Format & Style:

All manuscripts should be in Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced.

Follow MLA Handbook, 9th Edition for citations and references.

Use End Notes instead of Foot Notes.

Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format.

Abstract & Keywords:

Each submission must include a 200–250 word abstract and 4–6 keywords.

Author Details:

Include a separate document with the author’s name, designation, institutional affiliation, and contact information. This should be the first page of your article

Author details should not appear in any part of the main manuscript other than the first page (containing the author's details) to ensure blind review.

Review Process:

All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review by experts in the field. Authors may be asked to revise their work before final acceptance.

Ethics & Plagiarism:

Submissions must adhere to academic integrity standards. All manuscripts will be screened for plagiarism; works with more than 10% similarity (excluding references) will not be considered.
