The inaugural Florida Consortium for Women's Studies Conference will be =
held
April 6 - 8, 2006, in Tampa, Florida.

Conference theme =93Many Floridas: Women Imagining Change=94 allows =
those
involved in Women=92s Studies to come together to reflect on how Women's
Studies is relevant to our own communities; the conference seeks to =
discuss
issues that concern us and our neighbors and can facilitate bringing the
realities of the global world to the local level.

Papers, Panels, Symposia, and Workshop Topics are sought on but not =
limited
to the following:

=A7 New Directions in Women's Studies Scholarship

=A7 Diversity in Florida

=A7 Student Associations

=A7 Health Disparities

=A7 Activism in Florida

=A7 Globalization and Women's Studies

=A7 Migrant Workers, Immigration, and Alien Status

=A7 Native American women

Proposals for symposia, papers, posters, and workshops addressing topics =
IN
ALL AREAS of Women=92s and Gender Studies are invited. Papers, Panels,
Symposia, and Workshops are especially sought on the topics listed
immediately above. National and international submissions are welcome, =
and
papers authored or co-authored by students are also encouraged. =
Submissions
are for presentation on Friday, April 7, and Saturday, April 8, 2006.

All proposals should be submitted electronically. Proposals should not
exceed 500 words per individual paper and must include an abstract that =
is
no longer than 50 words.=20
