 CALL FOR CONTRIBUTORS (UPDATE)

Contributors are sought for the Encyclopedia of Contemporary LGBTQ
Literature of the United States scheduled for publication by Greenwood
Press in 2009. Approximately 400,000 words in length, the work will be
published in two hardbound volumes. Entries range in length from 750 to
4000 words and cover a range of topics, authors, texts, genres,
historical events, and stereotypes. Contributors may write several
entries and all are urged to write at least a minimum of 2000 words for
the project.

Remuneration for contributors will be based on the total number of words
assigned. Here are the guidelines:

2000 to 2750 words A copy of the two-volume
Encyclopedia (tentatively
                                                    priced at $250) at
the time of its publication;

3000 to 3750 words A copy of the Encyclopedia and $75;

4000 to 4750 words A copy of the Encyclopedia and $125;

5000 to 5750 words A copy of the Encyclopedia and $175;

6000 to 7000 words A copy of the Encyclopedia and $225.

All payments will be made at the time of the publication of the work. If
you are interested in participating in this project, please contact the
editor (Emmanuel Nelson at emmanueln_at_hotmail.com) with the following
information: a list of several entries that you are willing to write
(your top choices may have already been assigned); your institutional
affiliation and status; your daytime phone number; and your preferred e-
mail and snail mail addresses where you would like to receive all
correspondence. You will then receive from me an e-mail confirmation of
your assignments, guidelines for manuscript preparation, and sample
entries. Shortly afterwards Greenwood Press will send you via snail mail
a formal contract to sign and return. Completed entries in electronic
format are due by July 15, 2008.
