CALL FOR PAPERS
CELTIC LANGUAGES AND LITERATURES DISCUSSION GROUP

Please submit abstracts of 250 words for the 125th annual Modern Language
Association convention in Philadelphia (27-30 December 2009) to Sarah
McKibben, University of Notre Dame smckibbe_at_nd.edu by March 10, 2009. Note
that you must be a member of MLA to present a paper at the conference. Also
note that Celtic Literatures comprise texts written in one of the Celtic
languages.

Session Title: Sublime, Monstrous, Provocative? Bodies and Genders in
Celtic Literature
Description: How are bodies/genders recruited to political, religious and
other agendas in Celtic Literature? How do they figure in literary and
extraliterary pursuits?
