War, Literature & the Arts, a permanent panel of the South Central Modern
Language Association, seeks papers for its November, 2008 conference in
San Antonio, Texas. The conference theme this year is "borders" of all
kinds.

Considering especially Hamlet's reflections on the issue of borders and
war as he leaves Denmark, the War, Literature & the Arts panel invites
discussion of border wars of all periods. We would especially welcome
discussion of propaganda in literature from both sides of a border
conflict, as well as discussion of performance.

Please send a 500 word abstract as a Word attachment to Elizabeth Cawns
at ecawns1_at_lsu.edu by March 14, 2008. Papers to be no longer than 15
minutes.
