The Encyclopedia of American Environmental Literature (forthcoming from
Facts on File in 2010), is seeking contributors for entries on a wide
variety of authors and works, including a host of America’s most important
authors, and works of poetry, fiction and non-fiction.
Details, including a list of available entries as well as samples and
guidelines, can be found at
Contributors to the encyclopedia will receive a byline in the finished
book, identifying them as the author of their entry, and in certain cases
authors contributing multiple entries will receive a complimentary copy of
the encyclopedia upon its publication. Contributors will also enjoy the
distinction, given Facts on File's dominance in its target market
(undergraduate and upper high-school students), of providing many students
in North America with their first introduction to the respective work or

Given the encyclopedia's target audience and introductory character,
specialist knowledge is not required, just a firm grasp of the issues
involved in a respective entry and the ability (and will) to write lucid prose.

The first deadline is March 10, with further deadlines falling between then
and the spring of 2010.
If you would like to contribute to the encyclopedia, please reply to, indicating the specific entry or entries you are
interested in, as well as where you are teaching/studying, and if a
student, what and at what level you are studying. Please include also a CV
highlighting any writing experience.
