CFP: Buffy Undergraduate Journal (undergrad) (11/1/05 & ongoing; online journal)
Lynne Edwards and Katy Stevens, Co-Editors of Watcher Junior: The
Undergraduate Journal of Buffy Studies, are pleased to announce that the
first issue of Watcher Junior is now online at www.watcherjunior.tv.
Watcher Junior provides a forum for showcasing excellence in
Buffy scholarship. As colleges and universities continue to introduce
support courses in film and media studies in general, and Buffy
particular, there continues to be a growing body of Buffy scholarship
undergraduate and graduate levels of study. Slayage: The Online
International Journal of Buffy Studies (www.slayage.tv) provides an
important forum for publishing graduate and professional scholarship in
Buffy Studies; as a fully refereed journal, Watcher Junior is
doing the same for undergraduate work.
This exciting first issue features essays exploring the unique narrative
conventions of Buffy, the relationship between the series and its fan
community, and the philosophical and psychoanalytical foundations of

We hope you and your students enjoy Watcher Junior and we encourage
submit your work for our next issue. Please see our Call for Papers at
www.watcherjunior.tv. We welcome completed essays and research
any aspect of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, or both programs. All
should exhibit familiarity with previously published scholarship in
Studies. Completed essays and research papers will be
reviewed by two members of the board. Essays that do not receive
for publication will be returned with feedback for re-submission.
Submit your work electronically as an e-mail attachment in Microsoft
(.doc) or in Rich Text Format (.rtf). Refer to the Watcher Junior
before submitting (http://www.watcherjunior.tv/submit.php). Send the
simultaneously to Lynne Edwards at edwards_at_slayage.tv and Katy Stevens
To be eligible for consideration for issue two, submissions must be
by the editors by *1 November 2005*.
