The National Black Graduate Student Association (NBGSA) is seeking
proposals for papers, posters, panels, and workshops that relate to our
conference theme: Engaged, Empowered, Expect It! How does your research
uncover or assert modes of engagement and/or empowerment? We are
interested in scholarship from all academic approaches that explores any
aspect of this question. Visit www.nbgsa.org and click on "national
conference" for more details on submission guidelines and topics
supporting the theme. Our 21st Annual NBGSA Conference will be held
March 11-15, 2009 in downtown Houston, Texas, at the Doubletree Hotel and
features a career/graduate fair and dynamic keynote speakers.
Undergraduate students are also very welcome!

Early registration ends December 19, 2008.

Complete submission guidelines and the proposal form can be found on the
Downloads page of www.nbgsa.org. Proposals must be received by Friday,
February 6, 2009. Presenters will receive notification of proposal
dispositions no later than March 1. Proposals and queries should be
