5th Annual Intermountain Graduate Conference: An Interdisciplinary
Conference in the Humanities

Saturday, April 11, 2009

With Keynote Speaker Dr. Rob Carney, Poet and Associate Professor of
English and Literature at Utah Valley University.

The English Graduate Student Association of Idaho State University (EGSA)
and the Student Association of Graduate Students in English (SAGE) of
Utah State University gladly welcome professor and poet Dr. Rob Carney to
our 5th Annual Intermountain Graduate Conference. His writing has
appeared in journals Atlanta Review, Callaloo, The Literary Review,
Northwest Review, Quarterly West, and others. His collection, New Fables,
Old Songs won the 2002 Dream Horse Press National Chapbook Award, and his
collection, Boasts, Toasts, and Ghosts, winner of the 2003 Pinyon Press
Poetry Book Prize, received the Utah Book Award for Poetry in April 2004.
Dr. Carney promises to provide some unique views on our conference theme
this year. We also gladly invite graduate students from all relevant
fields to submit work related to our theme of Performances in
Composition, Literature, Pedagogy, and Creative Writing.

Submission Information

Submissions must be postmarked by Tuesday February 24, 2009
Please submit a 150-200 word abstract that includes your paper title,
name, affiliation, and email address to:
