NECBS 2007 Annual Meeting, Halifax, Nova Scotia
Call for Papers - Union and Disunion
The Northeast Conference on British Studies 2007 Annual Meeting will be held
October 12-13, at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. The 2007
meeting will focus on the general theme: "UNION AND DISUNION" in honor of the
300th anniversary of the Act of Union as well as the key position of Halifax
during the American Revolution.
The NECBS invites proposals for panels or papers related to this theme or in
any other areas of British Studies broadly defined, from across the arts,
humanities and social sciences. Panels may include thematic or
interdisciplinary sessions, teaching and pedagogy, or roundtable discussions.
Proposals for panels on a common theme are preferred, but proposals for
individual papers are also welcome. North American scholars, international
scholars, and graduate students are encouraged to submit proposals to the

The NECBS serves as the regional gathering for colleagues in the northeastern
United States and eastern Canada but welcomes participants from all regions
as well as outside North America.
