PUC -- Pontif=EDcia Universidade Cat=F3lica. The university is located =

the G=E1vea district, in the South Side of the city of Rio de Janeiro. =20=

Rio de Janeiro is the home of some of the most distinguished =20
university programs dedicated to the study of film in Brazil, such as =20=

UFRJ -- Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, UFF -- Universidade =20
Federal Fluminense, UERJ -- Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro =20
as well as PUC itself.

Moreover, Rio has been a historical hub of film production, having =20
served as the location of some of the most significant movies ever =20
made in this country and is still the home of a vibrant film and =20
television community.

As it has happened in the past conferences sponsored by Socine, we =20
invite papers, panels, and workshop proposals addressing any and all =20
issues of interest to scholars in cinema, television, and the =20
audiovisual media from all countries.

Scholars and students who reside outside Brazil can submit proposals =20
until April 12, 2007, and will be requested to pay, at the opening of =20=

the conference, the fees of R$200,00 -- two hundred reais (scholars) =20
and R$100,00 -- one hundred reais (students).
