CFP: [American] Multiethnic California Literature (1/07/07; ALA 5/22-5/25 2008)
MULTIETHNIC CALIFORNIA LITERATURE: A proposed panel for the American
Literature Association Conference, May 22-25, 2008 in San Francisco.
This panel will explore the contributions of immigrant writers and writers
of color to the development of the California literary tradition. Papers
may focus on one text, on works by one author, or on multiple writers
within one ethnic group. I am also interested in essays that do
comparative readings across cultural groups, and I hope to get papers that
represent different eras in California literary history.
Please email abstracts of 300-500 words to Molly Crumpton Winter
(mcrumpton_at_csustan.edu). Include with your abstract your name, academic
affiliation, contact information, and a one-page CV.
Deadline for proposals: January 7, 2008
