The MLA Publications Committee has accepted the manuscript _Approaches to
Teaching DeLillo's White Noise_, edited by Tim Engles and John Duvall, but
with the stipulation that we consider adding essays on

1) teaching _White Noise_ in a comparative literature context (along with
works by, e.g., Beckett, Kafka, Mann, and Gide)

2) teaching _White Noise_ in the context of disaster movies and novels
(both older ones like _The China Syndrome_ and _The Day After_ and more
recent examples).

We still seek authors for these topics and ask that those interested first
peruse some of the recent Approaches to Teaching World Literature volumes
for a sense of the style and pedagogical purpose of these essays, which
differ from the average journal essay in several ways. Length: about 12-15
manuscript pages.

Please send abstracts and/or inquiries to Tim Engles (cftde_at_eiu.edu) and
John Duvall (jduvall_at_sla.purdue.edu) asap. Ideally, we would like
completed essays by September 1, 2003.
