full name / name of organization:
contact email:

The New Contemplative Review seeks journal articles and short life-writing
pieces for its first issue, on the subject of spirituality. Treatments of
literature and spirituality are welcome: articles are welcome on any
aspect of the relation between literature and religion, except 'dogma';
but articles of pure theological enquiry are discouraged.

Articles must be 4,000 to 6,000 words in length, except by pre-arrangement
with the editor. Life-writing in general should not be more than 2,500
words, although exceptions can be made. The New Contemplative Review
follows a policy of open submission, both in content and topic: articles
from any discipline or faith perspective are welcome, including
agnosticism and atheism.

Articles are peer-reviewed.

The journal aims primarily to publish the work of young and early career
researchers, although undergraduate submissions are discouraged. Topics of
relevance might include:

Life, faith and writing
Loss of faith, in a religious or political system
Meaning, or its loss, in a specific text
Discourses of anti-religion
Cultural representations of feminist, black or queer spirituality
Spirituality in the theatre
