CFP: Short Literary Essays (1/1/06; electronic database)
Call for Papers
Whitston Publishing of Albany, New York, an imprint of EBSCO Publishing,
seeks essays of literary criticism for our electronic database products.
EBSCO databases are widely used by both academic and public libraries
worldwide and are perceived as excellent and authoritative sources for
The essays currently desired address the most popularly studied works of
literature with the aim of making them interesting and accessible to a wide
variety of readers.
Writers will be compensated on a per-item basis and will receive a by-line
and short biographical note.
Essays are between 3,500 and 4,500 words in length (about 6-8 pages). They
should be researched and documented in MLA style using no fewer than two
external sources. Minimum writer requirements are PhD (or present
enrollment in a PhD program) in the field of Literature or a related
discipline. Deadline for essays is January 1, 2006.
The essays cover a wide variety of works including poetry, drama, novels and
short stories including but not limited to works classified as multicultural
literature, ancient literature, children's literature and popular
